A person died during the night from Sunday to Monday after hitting a snow loader in Boucherville, on the South Shore of Montreal.
The collision took place around midnight on Route 132 West, near the exit for Boulevard Marie-Victorin. With severe weather disturbances, the person completely lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the back of the snow truck. On impact, the vehicle immediately caught fire.
Unfortunately, the driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was unable to get out of the car in time. “His death was pronounced on the spot,” said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
The SQ investigation is ongoing. Route 132, blocked overnight, was partially reopened Monday morning.
