The Berrichons have shown themselves careful on the roads for Christmas Eve. The Indre gendarmerie has published the results of its road safety operations for the weekend of January 1 and 2. Few speeding violations were checked and no driving while impaired.
Some exceptions to the rule anyway: two speeding tickets, one on the A20 near Mouhet, a motorist was traveling at 173 km / h instead of 130, the other at Parnac, the driver was at 122 km / h on a departmental road limited to 80. Motorists were fined 4th class ranging from € 90 to € 750, as well as four point loss and retention of their driver’s license.
The gendarmes also checked four people who had got behind the wheel after using narcotics in Argenton-sur-Creuse, Celon, Parnac and Vineuil. For this offense, the drivers ended up in custody, they lose six points on their license to drive and risk up to € 4,500 in fines, two years in prison and suspension of the driving license for three years. They will also have to follow a road safety awareness course.
