“Anti-drug operations”: 1,738 arrests and 150 kg of drugs seized throughout France, announces Gérald Darmanin

Traveling to Seine-Saint-Denis, the Minister of the Interior promised “three new anti-drug operations” on this model on Monday, “in other French cities”.

This new model of net raids was tested for the first time on March 19, in Marseille, where the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, went for the occasion, to the Castellane district.
“We will continue”added Gérald Darmanin on Saturday, announcing that “from Monday, three new XXL anti-drug operations will take place in other French cities”. In addition to the Paris region and Marseille, operations were carried out in Lyon (Rhône), Lille (North), Dijon (Côte-d’Or) and Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme).
The Minister of the Interior also spoke about the operations carried out in Paris and Seine-Saint-Denis. He reported a total toll of “319 held in custody in five days”, “tens of kilos [de produits stupéfiants] seized and 800,000 euros in cash” confiscated. These operations mobilized 3,600 members of the police and gendarmerie, he added. In particular, according to him, they allowed the removal of 10 suspects after the dismantling of“a deal point stuck for 10 years” in Sevran.
