The video of a young Amiens resident, Margaux Bordier, on TikTok, sparked a wave of emotion and support. In this video, Margaux, 20, reveals her experience of harassment since her childhood, marked by facial paralysis from birth. With nearly 17,000 comments and 123,000 likes, his testimony caused a stir on the social network.
“I need your help. My name is Margaux, and I have been bullied since maybe kindergarten. I have facial paralysis from birth due to a medical error. I had a lot of medical appointments, I was fed by tube. So, you can imagine that life hasn’t always been all rosy for me.“ This is how the video posted on TikTok by Margaux Bordier, a 20-year-old from Amiens, begins.
Margaux, through her video, exposes her experience. She talks about the roots of her involvement on TikTok, initially to raise awareness about harassment, then gradually to claim her place on social networks. “I want my TikTok to be a message to send to all people who are harassed, I would like us to move for these people“, she insists.
Margaux has endured hurtful words and malicious comments over the years, since kindergarten. Comments, which she now finds online. “Yesterday I was live and hundreds of people attacked me. This is trivial harassment.“
They told me: you have Down syndrome, you’re deformed, you’re burned, you were rocked too close to the wall, you didn’t see the train, you were hit by a bus.
These repeated attacks, these humiliations, have left deep scars. “Some people don’t know it, but they really ruined my life, ruined my adolescence, my childhood. Result: now, I have a school phobia, a social phobia, I’m afraid to go out, I’m afraid to assert myself, afraid to be myself, afraid that people will see my face“, confides the young woman, forced to stop the professional studies certificate (BEP) that she was taking because of the harassment she suffered from her classmates.
Despite the trials, Margaux refuses to remain silent. “It’s not our place to hide. I want to be Margaux for who I am, not for facial paralysis“, she insists.
“I had no idea that my video was going to get bigger. I only had 500 subscribers. I went from the totally invisible girl to the girl supported by thousands of people“, underlines Margaux. Today, her video has gone viral and has been viewed more than 710,000 times, garnered almost 17,000 comments and 123,000 likes.”
Visibility which not only brings him massive support, but also renewed hope.

Margaux underlines the importance of her message for people with disabilities and victims of harassment. “Around ten people with disabilities, not much, but huge for me. People who tell me that they are harassed too“, she testifies, thus underlining the strength of solidarity and sharing of experiences in the fight against harassment.
Despite the challenges, Margaux wants to move forward. Unpaid by TikTok, she is considering a new professional path, that of being a master of ceremonies or funeral advisor, with the motto: helping others.
