A judicial investigation has been opened in the so-called “scooter rapist” case, the Grenoble public prosecutor announced on Friday March 29. The investigation concerns in particular two incidents of rape, an attempted rape, a sexual assault and two incidents of violence, in February and March in Grenoble (Isère) and its outskirts.

Investigators are actively looking for the suspected individual, who is traveling on a scooter. The victims are young women aged 20 to 27. Although the investigators did not release a composite portrait, they provided a detailed description of the individual: 20 years old, 1m70, European type without accent, normal build, even slightly plump, brown eyes, pale complexion and rather red hair.

“The broadcast of the rapist’s report allowed the police to collect several dozen testimonies which are processed by investigators diligently”added prosecutor Eric Vaillant.
