The scenario, a sort of reconstruction of the afternoon during which little Émile disappeared in Haut-Vernet (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), ended at 7 p.m. Thursday March 28, noted the journalist from franceinfo on site. This scenario lasted ten hours, in difficult weather conditions, including heavy showers in the morning followed by snowfall in the afternoon. Investigators sought to recreate the conditions of that afternoon of July 8, 2023.
A total of 17 people were summoned by the courts to reconstruct the moment when the two and a half year old boy was last seen. The idea was to place these people in the same space-time to check the consistency of the different witnesses, particularly those from little Emile’s family.
To ensure that this new act of investigation takes place peacefully, access to this hamlet in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence has been blocked since Wednesday morning and will remain so until Friday morning.
