Bad weather: the price of insurance increasing by 6% on average in 2024

The floods in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais, the Ciaran and Domingos storms, or even the earthquake which shook the west of France in June 2023. Extreme natural events were frequent and intense last year, amounting to 6.5 billion euros for insurers. Will the worsening of climate risks have an impact on the amount of contributions? Increase of +6% on average in 2024
Faced with the multiplication of claims, they are however increasing their prices: + 6% on average this year, compared to 2023. According to consumer associations, the increase in prices also serves to cover the operating costs of insurance.
