Russia Honors Crocus City Hall Hero, Judges First Suspects

In front of the Crocus City Hall in Moscow (Russia), a mountain of flowers was placed on Monday March 25 by Muscovites, three days after the attack. In the middle of the crowd was Islam Kalilov, a 15-year-old boy who became a hero the night of the attack. An employee of the cloakroom of the auditorium, the young boy was there when the terrorists opened fire. After seeing a group of spectators rush into a dead end to try to escape, the boy caught up with them to guide them towards an emergency exit. His action would have saved around a hundred people.

Suspects apprehended

The four alleged attackers were presented to a judge on the evening of Sunday March 24, haggard and with swollen faces. One of them appeared barely conscious in the dock. The next day, three other men were detained, suspected by Russian investigators of having played a role in the attack.
