Pollens are proliferating again in France and with them, allergies. The doctor and journalist from France Télévisions, Damien Mascret, analyzes the situation in 13 Heures de France 2, Friday March 22.
It’s a spring classic: the return of allergies. A phenomenon due to flowering. It depends on the region in which you live, but also on your allergies and sensitivities, explains Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist France Télévision in 13 Heures on Friday March 22.
“If we look at the pollen allergy risk map”on the RNSA website pollens.fr, “we see that the maximum risk, in red, concerns the Mediterranean rim and the cypresses”points out the specialist, who specifies that these trees will emit their pollen for another “a good month”. “The part of France in yellow is affected by birch”the thresholds of which will begin to increase tomorrow, Saturday March 23.
One in two adults affected by 2050
These allergies are much more common than before, also confirms Damien Mascret. Against “1 to 2% in 1970, we exceeded 30% in 2010 and we are moving briskly towards 50%, or one in two adults, in 2050”, explains the doctor. A change that occurs “at any age”and may be due “changes in your immune system as you age”explains Damien Mascret.
