Often associated with a certain classicism, pearls can also be expressed in a host of other registers.
This is what jewelry artists Caroline Broadhead, Lin Cheung, Melanie Georgacopoulos, Maria Militsi and Frances Wadsworth Jones wanted to demonstrate with the traveling exhibition PEARL/PEARLwhich stops at the Noël Guyomarc’h gallery from March 16 to April 27.
The five women met at a prestigious jewelry design program in London. Among other things, they have in common a fascination with pearls.
Along the way, other jewelry artists, Helen Britton, Monika Brugger, Brooke Marks-Swanson, Tehri Tolvanen, and a colleague, Ambroise Degenève, were invited to participate in this celebration of mother-of-pearl.
Almost all the pieces are for sale. Prices for these unique works range from around $500 to a few tens of thousands of dollars for necklaces worthy of the Oscars red carpet!
