The list of Republicans for the European elections is growing. General Christophe Gomart joins the LR list led by François-Xavier Bellamy in third place, franceinfo learned from the party on Tuesday March 19. The former director of French military intelligence and former special operations commander is no longer on active duty.
Christophe Gomart ended his military career in 2017. General of the army corps, he was the director of military intelligence from 2013 to 2017, after having been commander of special operations from 2011 to 2013. Since 2017, he has been regularly invited to speak on military strategies as a specialist.
The Republicans plan to launch their campaign for the June election next Saturday March 23 at the Docks d’Aubervilliers, in Seine-Saint-Denis, near Paris.
