Anger of farmers: mobilizations continue
(franceinfo)
While Gabriel Attal receives the agricultural unions on Tuesday March 19, the mobilization continues on the ground. In Haute-Garonne as in Loiret, some farmers denounce the fact that the government does not keep its promises.
Monday March 18, around twenty tractors gathered in Balma (Haute-Garonne), near Toulouse, in front of the center of the services and payments agency. It is the latter which notably pays European public aid linked to the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy). However, these sums are still awaited by farmers. “They told us that all the aid would be paid by March 15, and that is not the case”deplores one of them.
Reiterated demands
Near Orléans (Loiret), it is on a roundabout that farmers express their anger: in addition to CAP aid, they are demanding price measures or mirror clauses on imported products. These requests, already made a few weeks ago, were the subject of government announcements, but farmers believe that the promises are not kept. “We want action and we want tomorrow to be able to peacefully and sustainably install future farmers to renew future generations”claims a farmer.
