Stuck all night in a gondola

Twenty-one people were stranded thousands of feet in the air overnight when the gondola they were in broke down on the Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway in New Mexico.

The device remained stuck in the air due to the freezing weather conditions in the area, CNN reported.

The last passenger was rescued on Saturday afternoon, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff.

Most of those stranded were employees finishing their shifts at the restaurant that sits atop the Sandia Mountains.

The aerial tram normally transports passengers to the top of the mountain located ten thousand feet in the air in about fifteen minutes.
