In Onet-le-Château (Aveyron), a 45-year-old man was stabbed to death on Saturday March 16. A simple altercation in the parking lot of a supermarket allegedly led to the event, which took place in front of the victim’s wife and child.
The tragedy took place in a supermarket in Aveyron: after an altercation, a father in his forties was killed with a knife, in front of his wife and son. Firefighters tried for more than an hour to resuscitate the victim. His wife, in shock, was also injured during the altercation.
The alleged perpetrator tested positive for alcohol
On site, many people who came to do their shopping witnessed the scene. A woman, who heard the sounds of the altercation, testified: “I was leaving the store and when I was heading back to my vehicle, I heard screams, but screams of terror”. Originally from Tarn, the victim’s wife and her 14-year-old son were hospitalized. The alleged perpetrator was arrested and tested positive for alcohol: according to the first elements of the investigation, he is 23 years old and is already known to the police.
