The Jets flee with a 4-3 win

(Anaheim) Nikolaj Ehlers found the back of the net twice in a 19-second gap late in the game to guide the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.

The Jets were trailing 3-2 when Ehlers tied the game with a precise shot with only 80 seconds remaining in the third frame.

Ehlers then played the heroes for the Jets by landing a shot that hit a Ducks defenseman before outwitting the vigilance of goaltender John Gibson.

Evgeny Svechnikov and Andrew Copp also hit the mark for the Winnipeg squad, which posted a third straight win.

Connor Hellebuyck kept the fort as his team tried to orchestrate a comeback and he ended the game with 32 saves.

Rookie Trevor Zegras and Sonny Milano both amassed a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who lost their fourth straight game. Josh Manson also made the red light twinkle.

Gibson has given up four times in 25 shots in goal for the Ducks.

The Californian team took a 3-2 lead with less than eight minutes to go in the third period.

Milano intercepted a pass from Pierre-Luc Dubois at the back of the territory and he returned the disc in the enclave to Zegras, who hit the target with a violent shot from the wrists.

Zegras, who was considered one of the favorites for the Calder Trophy before the start of the season, had only collected an assist in six games so far.
