Jets: Gabriel Vilardi is not about to return

Poolers who were hoping for a return to the game from Gabriel Vilardi will have to be patient.

The pilot explained that his skater suffered from an enlarged spleen and that he would not accompany his teammates for the five-game trip which begins Sunday in Columbus.

Acquired in the trade that sent Pierre-Luc Dubois to the Los Angeles Kings last summer, Vilardi is having a good first season with the Jets. However, he has already missed 27 games. The 24-year-old Ontario native hit the target 16 times and provided 14 assists for 30 points in 38 games.
