Health: retirees take up boxing to stay in shape
(France 2)
It is one of the fashionable sports of the moment which is now winning over retirees. Boxing allows you to stay in shape, regardless of the age of the participants.
Nadine, 70, and Patricia, 66, took up boxing to stay in shape. The two retirees practice this sport in the senior version. There is no question here of jumping or dealing violent blows. They can, among other things, exercise their reflexes. After only six months of lessons, the progress is very real. “It helps improve balance, coordination and reflexes”explains Aure Sorasso-Bluem, adapted physical activity teacher.
A good exercise for memory
Whether practiced in individual or group lessons, boxing is on the rise. In one home, the practitioners are all at least 70 years old. This sport, when choreographed, can be a very good exercise for memory. Other retirees prefer to take up basketball. There are no contraindications, as long as the sport is adapted to the physical condition of each practitioner.
