After a caricature in Libération sur Gaza, the cartoonist Coco received a flood of insults. Some deputies from La France insoumise were also part of the pack. Coco finds herself threatened with death.
Death threats with a photo of killers armed with a Kalashnikov, reference to the Kouachi brothers. All this surge of violence on social networks for a drawing evoking the start of Ramadan in the Gaza Strip. We see a Palestinian running after rats, stopped by a woman who reminds him: “Not before sunset”.
Coco, also targets politicians
It was Corinne Rey, known as Coco, who drew it in the newspaper Libération. She wanted to ironically show the gap between a hungry population and the rigor demanded by Hamas. “A drawing that I fully support, which highlights the despair of the Palestinians, denounces the famine in Gaza, and also mocks the absurdity of religion”, explains Coco. The designer was also the target of politicians, particularly on the left, with a tweet from Sophia Chikirou: “You won’t get our hatred, but you deserve it.”
