At the end of the year, a thousand leagues from what we anticipated a few weeks ago, we absolutely needed to laugh. Filled with good flashes and wonderfully realized, the Bye bye 2021 by Simon Olivier Fecteau and Guillaume Lespérance fulfilled this mandate perfectly, which was no small task. A hell of a good vent to really send this damn year out for a walk.
If all the actors shone, Guylaine Tremblay certainly offered her best performance since her arrival at the Bye. She stood out in all her imitations, particularly in Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge in one of the funniest sketches of the evening, that of “Chanteurs mascottes”, with a bearded François Bellefeuille in Véronic DiCaire much too excited and Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse in Anouk Meunier, who gives birth “live”.
