Flight MH370: ten years after the disappearance of the plane, the mystery remains unsolved
(France 2)
Flight MH370 disappeared on March 8, 2014 without a trace. Ten years later, the victims’ relatives are waiting for answers, even though only some debris from the plane has been found.
The passengers of the Malaysia Airlines 370 disappeared with their flight on March 8, 2014. The plane disappeared with 239 people on board. Since then, neither black box, nor wreckage, nor body has been found. The mystery remains unsolved and is untenable for loved ones. “We still don’t know what happened to the plane”, regrets Grace Nathan, close to someone who disappeared from flight MH370. That day, the Boeing 777 took off from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Beijing (China), 39 minutes later, the communication systems were manually deactivated.
Extensive searches yielded no results.
The aircraft turns around, then crashes into the Indian Ocean. Did the pilot commit suicide? The plane’s route seems designed to escape all surveillance. “Everything has been done to leave no traces”, assures Patrick Blelly, former captain. A breakdown or an uncontrolled fire are other hypotheses. Despite the new resources mobilized, the research yielded no results. Several pieces of debris belonging to the plane were later found on the coasts of Reunion and Mozambique.
