It is an unmissable event for fans of the Harry Potter saga, created in 1997 by JK Rowling. 20 years after the release of the first film Harry potter and the sorcerer’s stone, the actors of the saga meet again, at the invitation of the HBO Max platform and the Warner studios, to evoke behind the scenes of the shooting and their memories.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, in his thirties, comfortably seated in armchairs in the Gryffindor house. Six months after the reunion of the actors of Friends, Warner brings together the essential figures of the Harry Potter saga for a giant making-of. Alongside the star trio, we find iconic faces: among others, Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Tom Felton (Drago Malfoy), Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort), as well as directors Chris Colombus, David Yates and Alfonso Cuaron.

Faced with the colossal literary success of Harry Potter, the Warner studio had decided in 2002 to adapt one volume per year and chosen for the main roles of the 12-year-old adolescents that we would see growing up with each film as in the books and to whom a whole generation will identify itself. “I feel like it was yesterday”, says star actress Emma Watson. All are very moved by finding their comrades and the mythical sets of Hogwarts which have accompanied them during all these years.

A magical time machine. The only lack of a mark: the author, JK Rowling. The one who revived children’s literature with her characters has become persona non grata since her tweets qualified as transphobic. A controversy that does not fall.

The program Retour à Hogwarts, broadcast overnight on HBO Max, will be available in France on Salto from January 1 at 9:30 a.m.
