Three teenagers aged 15 to 17 were arrested on Monday March 4 by the DGSI in three cities in France, franceinfo learned from a source close to the matter, confirming information from the Journal du Dimanche. They are suspected of having been in contact with the four men arrested on Sunday in Belgium for a planned attack in Brussels.

The three minors are not suspected at this stage of being directly involved in the foiled attack plan against a concert hall in Brussels, but of having been in contact with the suspects, according to the same source.

In detail, a minor aged 15 was arrested as part of a judicial investigation underway since November 2023, specifies the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT). Two other minors aged 15 and 17 were arrested as part of an investigation opened last week by the national anti-terrorism prosecution of the head of a terrorist criminal association with a view to preparing one or more crimes of attacks on people.

These three minors interacted in a group on a social network in which exchanges of jihadist propaganda took place and plans for an attack were discussed. In this context, they were able to be in contact with other people including certain individuals arrested in Belgium, adds the PNAT.
