Three more. Donald Trump won, on Saturday March 3, the internal elections of the Republican Party in three new American states, Idaho, Missouri and Michigan. The former president is getting a little closer to the inauguration for the presidential election in November.
In Missouri, the Republican billionaire crushed his rival Nikki Haley by winning all the caucuses organized in the state, according to the New York Times. And in Michigan, Trump won the 39 elected delegates during a caucus of some 2,000 activists, CNN reported. Earlier in the week, Donald Trump had already won Michigan’s remaining 16 delegates, determined in a primary election. He also won nearly 85% of the delegates in the Idaho primary, according to the New York Times.
The Republican candidate has won all the primaries held so far. His new victories on Saturday come three days before “Super Tuesday” on March 5, a crucial meeting during which 15 states simultaneously organize their Democratic and Republican primaries. But Democratic President Joe Biden and Donald Trump are already almost assured of being nominated by their respective parties.
