On Saturday March 2, the United States dropped the equivalent of 38,000 meals on the Gaza Strip. Valuable aid but which does not compensate for the work of land humanitarian convoys, which are still having difficulty entering the enclave.

1,000 humanitarian vehicles would be blocked
These air deliveries are also much more expensive. The Americans are considering delivering aid by sea, but this does not compensate for land humanitarian convoys. According to the UN, at least 1,000 vehicles are blocked on the Egyptian side of the border, while famine threatens Gaza. “We need all crossing points into Gaza to be open“, insists Georgios Petropoulos, of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
Malnutrition and dehydration particularly affect very young children. Around ten are already dead, according to Palestinian officials.
