(Boucherville) RONA continues its transformation and marks the end, this week, of the Lowe’s brand in Canada with the opening of 15 RONA+ stores in Alberta and British Columbia.
RONA also announced Thursday a pilot project aimed at converting three Réno-Dépôt stores in Quebec to the RONA+ brand.
The Hull store will be the first in the province to display the new sign in March, followed by the Sherbrooke and Charlemagne stores in April, the Quebec company in the residential renovation sector said in a press release.
The retailer says it is convinced that the pilot project will produce positive results and will pave the way for the “soon arrival of this new brand in Quebec”.
The conversions to the RONA+ brand that took place in other provinces of Canada have had positive impacts on store performance, the company maintains. In Quebec, RONA+ represents the merger of the Quebec brands RONA and Réno-Dépôt.
The conversion of former Lowe’s stores to the RONA+ brand is part of a larger-scale plan and represents a significant local investment, the company argues.
RONA says it operates or serves some 425 corporate and affiliated stores under various brands.
“Now that we are entirely managed in Canada, we have a tremendous opportunity to rethink how we serve Canadians by offering them the products and services they expect from RONA, across all channels,” says RONA President and CEO Andrew Iacobucci.
