After the mild weather at the start of the week, the weather took a turn for the worse in Quebec, with rain and violent winds causing tens of thousands of electrical outages and paralyzing the Réseau express métropolitain (REM).
The REM paid the price for these difficult conditions and interrupted its service on the entire network, stranding certain users directly on the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge. Passengers report on social media that they have been stuck on the bridge for almost two hours already.

As for Hydro-Québec, the state company reports more than 200,000 customers affected by outages. The most affected regions are Montérégie, Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians and Outaouais.
At 7:30 p.m., there were nearly 105,000 customers out of service, due to a major episode of violent winds, which hit part of the province. The most affected regions are Montérégie, Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians and Outaouais.
