If the heavy rains of the last days have caused significant damage in Isère, they are also the source of an impressive spectacle. Underground, in the Caves of La Balme all north of the department, the river is in flood.
Small but impressive visit
It rumbles and cascades in the caves, by blocking part of the visit. The river overflows on certain stairs of the course and prevents access to the underground lake.
You can discover this show since the Caves of La Balme remain despite everything accessible with a restricted route and a reduced price, € 7 for adults, 6 for young people from 12 to 17 years old and 5 for children from 4 to 11 years old.
The caves are closed on December 31 and on January 1, they will be open again on Sunday January 2 from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. before closing until the next holidays in February.
