Two years after the start of the war, Ukraine once again invites itself to the Élysée. Monday February 26 from 5 p.m., a meeting is organized in the presence of around twenty European heads of state. The goal, according to the palace, is to remobilize and examine all means of support for Ukraine. So what to expect from this meeting? No new announcements planned at the end of the summit, but participants should discuss an acceleration of European aid, which has been slipping for several weeks. France and Germany have signed bilateral security agreements with kyiv, but the EU is struggling to keep its commitments, particularly in terms of the delivery of shells.
Russian cyberattacks singled out
American aid, for its part, is blocked by supporters of Donald Trump, the majority in the American Congress. On Sunday February 25, the Ukrainian president reiterated that Ukraine will not win without Western aid. The meeting will begin with a videoconference intervention by Volodymyr Zelensky. This meeting should also be an opportunity for heads of state to discuss increasingly aggressive Russian cyberattacks, which represent a growing risk for Europe, according to the French presidency.
