During his visit to the Agricultural Show on Saturday February 24, Emmanuel Macron was whistled at. For François Patriat, Renaissance senator from Côte-d’Or, president of the RDPI group, who was alongside the head of state, this visit is “the one where there was the most noise is not the one where there was less work or less debate”. Guest of 19/20 info, Monday February 26, he assures that Emmanuel Macron is “studious” during his visits to the Agricultural Show. “He comes there to discuss with each of the sectors, with each of the agricultural managers”he says.
A part of the peasant world tempted by the extreme right
According to him, a minority union had “warmed up his troops” so that Emmanuel Macron cannot inaugurate the Salon. “I think they did not enhance the image of the show by having such an aggressive attitude”, adds François Patriat. Emmanuel Macron indicated that the Rural Coordination union was the ally of the National Rally. “Lepénie has obvious connections with Rural Coordination”assures the senator, who adds that Jordan Bardella, during his visit to the Salon, had lunch with the Rural Coordination.
“They find themselves in this simplistic, binary discourse of saying ‘to protect the agricultural world today, let’s close the borders’”, develops François Patriat. For him, the RN’s speech wins over the farmers. “Today, part of the peasant world would be more tempted to vote for the extreme right than they voted for the classic right before”he concludes.
