Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be in Warsaw on Monday to meet his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk. Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Defense Minister Bill Blair will also take part in the meeting.
On Saturday, Mr. Trudeau made a surprise visit to Kiev, Ukraine, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion, February 24, 2022. There he signed a bilateral security agreement with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky. The deal includes some $320 million in new military spending, expected by the end of the year, as well as $2.4 billion in loans to Ukraine, which will be administered by the International Monetary Fund.
