Doctor consultations, medical tests and prescribed medications will cost more from March 31. For a box of prescribed medication, the patient paid 50 cents, it will now be one euro. 800 million euros in savings
In order not to penalize people who have recourse to regular treatments, the ceiling of the excess remains set at fifty euros. Once this amount is exceeded, the patient is fully reimbursed. The remainder also doubles for doctor’s consultations and analyses, two euros instead of one. The excess on medical transport increases from two to four euros. All these measures will save 800 million euros for social security.
