Death at the Chiefs parade | Taylor Swift donates $100,000 to victim’s family

(Kansas City) Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the woman killed in the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ parade to commemorate their Super Bowl triumph.

Two $50,000 donations were posted Friday under the singer’s name on a GoFundMe page. The Associated Press independently verified the messages.

“I send you my deepest condolences on your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift,” we can read in the messages accompanying the publications.

Lopez-Galvan, 43, was shot to death Wednesday while celebrating the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory with her husband, young adult son and hundreds of thousands of other fans at Union Station.

Twenty-two other people, half of whom were under the age of 16, were injured in the shooting. Investigators are still trying to identify those responsible, but say an argument may have sparked the shooting.

Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and attended the Super Bowl on Sunday, was not in attendance at Wednesday’s parade. She is currently performing a series of concerts in Melbourne, Australia as part of her Eras Tour.

The Chiefs said all players, coaches, staff and their families were safe following the shooting.
