Since Wednesday, February 14, it has been possible to dematerialize your driving license with the France Identity application. To have the pink card directly on your mobile, however, you must already have a digital identity card registered on the application.
Taking out your little pink card will soon no longer be necessary thanks to the dematerialization of the driving license on the phone. An idea that appeals to drivers. “It will be much better, we will have fewer papers in our wallet”observes a passerby. “It allows you not to take a bag”, notes a motorist. Since Wednesday February 14, the permit has been dematerialized on the France Idêtes application. If the digital document is supposed to save drivers time, there is no obligation to download your license on a mobile phone. The paper version still remains valid.
Operational problems Wednesday morning
With this digital permit, the government intends to fight more effectively against identity theft. The only necessary condition is to first have a digital ID card on the application. In the morning, the France Identity platform encountered operating problems due to too many simultaneous connections.
