The City of Montreal Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify an individual suspected of having committed a sexual assault last November.
A sketch of the suspect was released on Wednesday. He is a white-skinned man in his 40s, approximately 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall and speaking English. He has short black hair. At the time of the event, he wore an unkempt white beard and smelled particularly of cigarettes, specifies the City of Montreal Police Department.
He was dressed in a dark hooded sweater, jeans and white sneakers. He was also dressed in a navy bulletproof vest with the word “police” emblazoned on reflective tape.
On November 25, the suspect allegedly arrested two young people who were engaged in urban exploration in a building under construction. Pretending to be a police officer, he allegedly held them against their will and committed sexual acts on one of the two young people.
A mobile command post will be set up on Wednesday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the intersection of Boulevard de l’Assomption and Avenue Pierre-de Coubertin, near where the attack occurred. Anyone who has information or who witnessed the upcoming event will meet with investigators.
