Even though the blockades have been lifted, farmers continue to maintain pressure after the government’s announcements. Tuesday February 13, they expect concrete actions.
Two weeks after the end of the blockades, farmers are threatening to take new actions to make themselves heard. Friday February 9 in the morning, in Bordeaux (Gironde), around ten of them blocked a logistics platform of the Leclerc hypermarkets. Since the Prime Minister’s latest announcements, the farmers’ unions believe they are in the dark. They expect concrete decisions and an acceleration of the tempo.

“There is a big issue regarding the remuneration of farmers, which is still essential”, assures Rémi Dumas, vice-president of Young Farmers. For his part, Romain Blanchard, secretary general at the FNSEA, requests a “administrative simplification”. During the weekend, the president of the FNSEA, Arnaud Rousseau, warned “if there is no meeting, in the end, we will come back”. Before Sagriculture fair, which will be held on February 24, the FNSEA declared that it did not want to make it a moment of tension, but a moment to welcome the public.
