Igor Shesterkin stopped 30 shots and the New York Rangers blanked the Calgary Flames 2-0 on Monday night.
Shesterkin’s first shutout of the season helped the Rangers to their fifth straight victory.
Will Cuylle and Jimmy Vesey scored for the Rangers, who are 6-1-1 in their last eight outings. Shesterkin recorded a 12e career shutout in the NHL.
Jacob Markstrom finished the game with 29 saves for the Flames, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
After a scoreless period that included some spectacular saves from Markstrom, Cuylle finally broke the tie with 7:29 remaining in the second period. He slipped the puck into the net for his ninth goal of the campaign.
Vesey added an empty-net goal with 19 seconds remaining in the game.

The Philadelphia Flyers scored their fourth straight victory, 5-3 Monday night against the Arizona Coyotes.

Morgan Frost, Jamie Drysdale and Owen Tippett also scored for the Flyers, whose winning streak began after the All-Star break.
Third in the Metropolitan Division standings, the Flyers had lost five games in a row when they entered the break.
In the victory, goaltender Sam Ersson blocked 20 shots.
Matt Dumba, Matias Maccelli and Alex Kerfoot scored for the Coyotes, who have lost their last six games, including three in a row since returning from the All-Star break. The Coyotes’ last victory dates back to January 22.
Goalkeeper Karel Vejmelka made 29 saves.
Laughton gave the Flyers a 4-3 lead with 9:39 left on a spin play. Tippett confirmed the victory by scoring into an empty net with 1:21 on the clock.
Drysdale had allowed the Flyers to make it 3-3 at 6:12 of the third period when his shot went off Dumba’s skate before beating Vejmelka.
Konecny had an assist on the play for his 50e point of the season, a high for the Flyers.

The Devils beat the Kraken 3-1

Star forward Jack Hughes scored a goal and added an assist, goalie Nico Daws made 27 saves and the New Jersey Devils handed the Seattle Kraken a third straight defeat, 3-1 on Monday night.
For Hughes, it was his first points since he was injured early in January.
Tyler Toffoli and Dawson Mercer scored the other goals for the Devils, who swept their two-game series against the Kraken.
In their last games, the Devils have only conceded one goal in regulation time. On Saturday, they suffered a 1-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Defenseman Will Borgen scored midway through the third period to deprive Daws of his first career shutout and prevent the Devils from collecting their first of the season.
At the other end, Joey Daccord kept the Kraken in the game by blocking 34 pucks.
The Devils led 1-0 entering the second period when Hughes and Mercer scored in the first five minutes of play.
Hughes, who missed 11 games after suffering an upper-body injury Jan. 5 against the Chicago Blackhawks, directed a shot from a tight angle that hit Daccord’s mask before entering the net, after 48 seconds of play.
Mercer followed up by grabbing the return of a shot from Timo Meier for his 15e goal of the season.
