The Wednesday evening screenings will be preceded by a red carpet and a special event for fans of the universe created by Frank Herbert. The cinema on rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest will look like Arrakis for the occasion.
In a Warner Bros. promotional video, Denis Villeneuve mentions that he is “very excited” about his upcoming visit to Montreal, while Timothée Chalamet adds: “Nice to see you on February 28.”
This is the only stop in Canada for the Quebec filmmaker and the Franco-American actor as part of their promotional tour.
The director and several of the actors in the nearly three-hour feature film are currently in Paris where they are continuing to promote the film after a visit to Mexico last week.
Dune: Part Two picks up where the first part, released in 2021, left off, as Paul Atreides (Chalamet) forms an alliance with Chani (Zendaya) and the rest of the Fremen people in order to resist the invaders of House Harkonnen, who is also behind the attack on the Atreides family.
Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Stellan Skarsgård and Stephen McKinley Henderson reprise their respective roles, while Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Souheila Yacoub and Léa Seydoux are added to the prestigious cast .
Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaights once again co-signed the screenplay, based on the legendary novel by Frank Herbert.
Dune: Part Two takes the poster on 1er March.
