The former education deputy at Saint-Étienne town hall is suspected of having co-organized a plot aimed at blackmailing another deputy, Gilles-Artigues, with an intimate video. He resigned from his position at the town hall of Saint-Etienne in September 2022, after being implicated in the affair.
Suspected of having participated in a second part of the affair
Three other people are indicted: the mayor, Gaël Perdriau, his chief of staff, Pierre Gauttieri, and Gilles Rossary-Lenglet, the man who revealed the affair and recognized his own role in Kompromat. Gaël Perdriau is indicted three times, for blackmail, participation in a criminal association with a view to committing blackmail and embezzlement of public funds by a depositary of public authority.
Samy Kéfi-Jérôme is also suspected of having participated in a second part of the affair: blackmail of the same type on a former mayor of Saint-Etienne, Michel Thiollière, revealed again by Médiapart. In this case, he is not indicted, but has been placed under the status of assisted witness, the police-justice service of franceinfo learned, again from corroborating sources.
