“The dialogue must resume,” insists the deputy mayor of Paris in charge of Sports

“The dialogue must resume”insists Sunday February 11 on franceinfo Pierre Rabadan, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of Sports, after the tensions between the City and the management of PSG concerning the sale of the Parc des Princes.

On Thursday, PSG president Nasser al-Khelaïfi said he wanted to leave the Parc des Princes after the refusal of the Paris Council to sell him the stadium. Saturday evening, the Parisian ultras insulted the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and unfurled several banners against her during the PSG-Lille match (3-1) at the Parc des Princes. “It was not Anne Hidalgo who decided not to sell”replies Pierre Rabadan who recalls the meeting of the Council of Paris during which “no one voted for the sale.”

“We want the same thing as the supporters”

Pierre Rabadan says he hears “the postures of each other” but he recalls that the dialogue between the club and the City has been broken since now “almost two years”. He wishes “let the discussions resume”. “We must meet, time has passed, we must change our attitude, no one must be taken hostage”, he continues. He recalls that the “club has a contract with the park until 2043”, without him knowing “The strategy” of PSG.

“We want the same thing as the supporters, we want PSG to stay at the Parc des Princes”continues Pierre Rabadan. “This is where the club was created, grew, made its history.” The Sports Assistant “regrets the climate” current and speaks of a situation which is not “pleasant for no one, first of all for PSG supporters”. He assures that despite the vote of the Paris Council, solutions exist for PSG to remain at the Parc des Princes: “Renovation, expansion, a certain number of developments necessary for the club to continue to grow.”
