Quebec reports 13,149 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, as well as 10 additional deaths. Hospitalizations are on the rise, as 102 more have been recorded.
The 13,149 new cases bring the daily average to 10,103. The trend is thus up 136% over one week.
As for deaths, the 10 additional deaths bring the daily average to 7. The trend is thus up over one week.
A total of 804 people are hospitalized as a result of COVID-19, 102 more than the day before. This represents an increase of 81% over one week. Of these, 122 are in intensive care, seven more than the day before. The number of intensive care patients is up 39%.
51,500 samples were also taken on December 27.
With regard to vaccination, 89.4% of the Quebec population aged 12 and over is considered to be adequately vaccinated. For the entire population, this percentage drops to 78.5%. 88,309 new doses of the vaccine were administered to Quebecers, bringing the total doses administered to the population in Quebec and outside Quebec to 15,148,869.
In total, 84.8% of Quebecers received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 77.7% received two doses and 13.6% received all three doses.
To date, 77% of residents in CHSLDs and 84% of those in RPA who are considered adequately vaccinated and have received a booster dose, indicates the latest data from the Institut de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ). .
