Winners of the competition in 2021, the Blues will try to win a second Nations League in 2024-2025, with matches against Italy, Belgium and Israel to start in the group stage.

Who will succeed Spain in the Nations League rankings? The draw, carried out on Thursday February 8 in Paris, determined the groups for the fourth edition of the competition and placed France in the pool of Italy, Belgium and Israel in League A. Third in their group during the 2022-2023 edition, the Blues will try to do better this season. Group stage matches will be played between September 5 and November 19, 2024.
The top two in each League A group will play the quarter-finals in March 2025, the third will play a relegation play-off against a nation having finished second in a League B group and the fourth will be relegated to League B.
“Since there are the 12 best teams from the last competition in League A, we expected a strong group. It will be a solid group, but almost all the groups are (…) We were fortunate to win this competition and we will leave with a lot of ambitions.”reacted the French coach Didier Deschamps at the microphone of La Chaîne L’Equipe, while all his energy is for the moment “focused on the March deadline [le prochain rassemblement] and on the Euro in Germany”.
