The Court of Appeal of Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne, decided to reopen the investigation into the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, Thursday February 8. A decision motivated by a recorded conversation between an inmate, incarcerated at the same time as Cédric Jubillar, and his mother.

Cédric Jubillar, the only suspect in the disappearance of his wife, was to be tried at the end of the year, but his trial could be postponed. The Toulouse Court of Appeal (Haute-Garonne) gave the magistrates two additional months to relaunch the investigation, Thursday February 8, on the basis of a recorded conversation which sowed disorder. It concerns an inmate incarcerated at the same time as Cédric Jubillar at the Seysses remand center (Haute-Garonne). In November 2023, the inmate confided in his mother on the phone. She tells him of the probable referral of Cédric Jubillar to a criminal court. “But there is no proof, no proof… And Sofiane, and Sébastien and Mathieu, they don’t know them”, reacts the inmate. His mother then exclaims: “Ah! If they knew…”

Comments taken seriously by the judges

Both will be heard by the judges, who take these remarks seriously. The first names mentioned appear in the file. It was in particular to Sofiane that Cédric Jubillar confided that things were not going well with his wife, and that he wanted to bury her. For the suspect’s lawyers, this relaunch of the investigation above all reflects a poorly constructed investigation. On the contrary, this decision is encouraging according to the lawyers of the civil parties.
