It is a moment of conviviality awaited by thousands of retirees in Reims. But the Covid-19 epidemic is once again overcoming the traditional senior meals at Reims. In view of the current context and the latest government announcements, Mayor Arnaud Robinet has decided to postpone the event, as indicated by our colleagues from the Union at the beginning of the afternoon.
According to the municipality, the meal initially planned for January 22, 2022 will be rescheduled “as soon as the health situation permits.”
The last meal for seniors in 2020
It must be said that this meal attracts on average 2,500 retirees every year. A festive moment organized by the town hall, the CCAS (Communal Center for Social Action) and the ORPPA (Office des Seniors du Grand Reims) at the Parc des Expositions. The last meal for seniors took place in January 2020, just before the start of the health crisis.
As a reminder, the government has banned gatherings of more than 2,000 people indoors from January 3 and for three weeks.
