It is a real moment of consecration for Miley Cyrus. This Sunday, February 4, 2024, the singer from Tennessee won her very first Grammy during the 66th ceremony of Grammy Awards.
Mariah Carey indeed presented the prize for best recording of the year to the 31-year-old singer who rushed to perform her song on stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, the star’s performance didn’t go as planned as she urged the audience to show a little more enthusiasm. “Why are you acting like you don’t know this song?“, she asked. Words that pushed Oprah Winfrey to get up from her seat to move around.

A speech that gets people talking
A few minutes earlier, Miley Cyrus had spoken at length about the importance of receiving such a trophy. “This award will stay by my side because it’s simply too iconic”she said before adding: “Oh my God, I got stuck in the rain and in traffic and I thought I was going to miss this moment. And I could have missed the prize.”
“There was a little boy who all he wanted for his birthday was a butterfly. So his parents gave him a butterfly net and he was so excited. He came out into the sun and started rocking and swaying. But without success, he sat on the ground, finally let go and surrendered. He agreed not to capture this magnificent butterfly. Just as he did, the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of his nose. And this song, Flowers, is my butterfly. THANKS”she confided without mentioning her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. An oversight that makes people talk…
