Last June, to everyone’s surprise, the flagship presenter of the public service announced that she had decided to leave hosting Affaire concluded to return to her first love: radio. Since September, Sophie Davant has hosted every afternoon on Europe 1 Sophie and the Friends, a general knowledge game with listeners in which she is surrounded by columnist friends, including Caroline Margeridon, Danielle Moreau and Enora Malagré. But in an interview with Parisian published this Saturday February 3, 2024, the companion of William Leymergie reveals for the first time that she wanted to continue hosting Affaire concluded.
“I stopped Affaire concluded a little forced and forced because the show that I was offered on Europe 1 was at the same time” explains Sophie Davant. The management of France Télévisions considered it inconceivable that its presenter would be present on both Europe 1 and France 2, in the same time slot, and therefore asked the latter to make a choice. Sophie Davant, wanting more than anything to host a band show and return to radio, made the decision, abandoning Harold Hessel, Enora Alix, Delphine Fremaux-Lejeune and Jérôme Duvillard, to whom she had been supporting since August 2017.
Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez left him no choice
Since then, fortunately, Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, the boss of the France Télévisions antennas, has managed to re-employ his star host. Although she no longer appears on France 2, she has nevertheless become a face of France 3 weekends, since she recently hosted the magazine In good companyalongside rapper Kamini: “He wanted me to continue to be present on the France Télévisions channels and he spoke to me about this program around animals. It was a subject neglected by the public service for 7 or 8 years. I found that it “was a good idea because I have always liked to host formats with useful content for viewers. It’s a public utility program where we respond to people’s problems in their relationships with their pets.” she explains.
Sophie Davant, difficult mourning
If she says she is satisfied today with her work accomplished on Europe 1 and France 3, Sophie Davant nevertheless remains bitter at having abandoned the buyers of Deal concluded: “I (…) had to mourn Affaire concluded because I happily presented this show which was a phenomenal success and I was attached to this team. I loved doing that job. However, I chose radio because I felt that I needed another challenge, to renew myself. I was afraid of wearing out along with the program. It wasn’t easy to get into radio. I’m delighted to have returned to live but you have to set up a concept, create a band. It takes a little time.” explains the one who left her place to Julia Vignali, who now rubs shoulders with Bernard Dumeige on a daily basis, Caroline PonsPaul Azzopardi and Aurore Morisse.
