National Education unions are calling for a new day of strike on Tuesday February 6. At the same time, one of the highest executives in National Education, the rector of Paris, announced his decision, a new blow for the minister, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
It is through this two-page letter that the rector of the Paris academy, Christophe Kerrero, announced his resignation on Friday February 2. “I am leaving my position today (…) when our School is still in doubt and the situation nevertheless requires mobilization from everyone”, he wrote in particular. The rector wanted to close several preparatory classes in Parisian high schools and set up three new ones, open in particular to professional high school students. The project was rejected by the new minister.
An extremely rare resignation
On the social networks X, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra praised her journey “copy”. “I take note of the resignation of Christophe Kerrero, who has done so much for the school and the success of all students”, she wrote. Christophe Kerrero remained rector for three and a half years, he marked the Paris academy with an extremely rare resignation from this position.
