Clémentine Autain, La France Insoumise MP for Seine-Saint-Denis, was the guest on 8:30 a.m. franceinfo on Friday February 2, 2024. She answered questions from Agathe Lambret and Jean-Rémi Baudot.
Measures for farmers: it’s “total ecological madness”
Clémentine Autain, deplores the implementation “break” of the Ecophyto plan, aimed at reducing the use of pesticides. “It’s “total ecological madness”, according to the rebellious MP. This plan crystallizes the anger of field crop producers. The majority unions FNSEA and Young Farmers demanded a moratorium. The government “responds to the logic of the FNSEA but not to the interest of the majority of farmers and not to the interest of the French for their health”, regrets Clémentine Autain. The elected official wishes to emphasize that farmers are the “first victims of pesticides”. She also believes that the government lacks ambition to support the organic sector. The Prime Minister announced emergency aid of 50 million euros. “Do you think we’re going to save her like that?”retort. “However, the responsibility of public authorities is to invest in organic, in the relocation of the economy and therefore of our agriculture.”
Crisis in public services and teachers’ strike: “The macronie becomes an agent of private interests and a destroyer of public spirit”
The member for Seine-Saint-Denis accuses “the macronie” to become “an agent of private interests and a destroyer of the public spirit”. She denounces “the patient destruction of all public services”which occurred, according to her, since “decades but accelerated by macronia”. Clémentine Autain thus calls on the executive to follow the adage stated by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during his general policy declaration to announce the creation of work of educational interest for juvenile delinquents, namely: “You break, you repair; you dirty, you clean”. The government “destroys the hospital, he rebuilds; he destroys the school, he rebuilds; he destroys our public transport, he rebuilds them”, says Clémentine Autain. She thus deplores “a generalized impoverishment of all agents. (…) We need the equivalent of a Marshall Plan, something very strong to put National Education, our hospitals and our transport back on their feet”supports the rebellious MP.
