To see: “Tótem”, before death, the party

Critically acclaimed since its premiere at the 73e Berlinale, Totem offers a child-like foray into the life of a family gathered for the birthday of Tona, a dying painter. We see the members of the family busy for a day organizing a party which will serve as a farewell ceremony. Every little detail of the event is of capital importance, especially in the eyes of young Sol – formidable Naíma Sentíes – who just wants to see her father. Touching family chronicle brilliantly produced by Mexican filmmaker Lila Aviles. Indoors.
