“There is no one who can buy me for $100!,” said the super Minister of the Economy and Energy on Wednesday. Do you think a mayor or an entrepreneur will influence my judgment for $100? It’s not a reflection on people’s intelligence to say that.”
At the start of the parliamentary session, members of the Legault government are embroiled in controversies surrounding their financing strategies. Several CAQ elected officials have asked mayors and citizens to participate in fundraising cocktails, promising the possibility of meeting a minister there.

Of course, Pierre Fitzgibbon often participates in these kinds of activities. “I like seeing people. I want to continue seeing them. Whether they pay or not, it doesn’t bother me. I never look at who pays,” he insisted, in a press scrum at the National Assembly.
Known for his vast network of contacts, he says that his strength is precisely that he meets everyone.
The minister also had advice for municipal elected officials who wish to speak to him: “Let them call me, it’s much simpler than getting in line in front of a hundred people to see the minister!”
