It is “two strong announcements”, reacts Wednesday January 31 on franceinfo Jean-Marie Fabre, president of the union of independent winegrowers, while the Minister of Agriculture promised an envelope of 80 million euros in additional aid to support wine regions in crisis. Marc Fesneau also announced on Sud Radio a grubbing-up bonus of 150 million euros to restructure the vineyard or to carry out agricultural diversification.
These measures are welcomed on franceinfo by the union of independent winegrowers. For its president Jean-Marie Fabre, “the government has taken the full measure of the economic situation in which the sector finds itself” wine growing. He mentions in particular “a succession of crises, climatic, economic, health and inflationary hazards over the past 3-4 years”.
Jean-Marie Fabre is satisfied with the quadrupling of the emergency fund for wine growers in crisis regions. This winegrower in Fitou (Aude) considers that this “will provide relief to those who have been impacted by mildew and drought.” The president of the independent winegrowers is delighted to see that the State will cover the loan interest for the year 2024. He sees this as a way “to breathe new life into the treasuries”.
